- Stackable flat rewards keep all configured level roles at or below the member’s level.
- Non-stackable flat rewards retain the highest eligible configured role.
- Atom removes configured reward roles that a member is no longer eligible to hold.

- EliteLevel 50 reward
- VeteranLevel 30 reward
- RegularLevel 15 reward
Keep every role Atom should add or remove below its bot role. Do not move Atom above protected staff roles just to solve a reward issue.
Design a ladder, not a role list
Give each role a purpose: recognition, an appropriate access change, or a visible community milestone. Start with a few milestones that are far enough apart to feel earned. A reward that nobody can explain is usually better removed than renamed.
Verify the Discord role hierarchy
Atom can only assign roles it is allowed to manage. Place the Atom bot role above every role it should add or remove, while keeping it below protected staff roles that it should never manage. Then test a real threshold with a staff account.
Recommended sequence
- Create the Discord roles before configuring Atom.
- Place Atom above the reward roles in Server Settings → Roles.
- Choose flat or branch behaviour and whether rewards stack.
- Test an earned and a no-longer-eligible role before launch.
