Not every meaningful contribution is a message. Atom includes reaction activity in its community engagement system, helping servers recognize members who respond, vote, and participate in lightweight ways.

What Atom supports

Reaction XP rules can add or remove XP and apply to either the reactor or the member receiving the reaction.
Role-based reaction XP ranges let a server differentiate how eligible members earn reaction XP.
Administrators can reset text, voice, and reaction counters without changing member XP or level data.

Use reactions where they are a meaningful signal

Reactions can acknowledge a useful answer, register a vote, or respond to an event prompt. They are less useful as a blanket reward on every channel. Set a narrow rule first, explain whether the reactor or receiver earns XP, and review whether it creates the participation you wanted.

Keep reporting separate from progression

Activity counters answer a different question from XP: they help a team understand participation over a period. Atom can reset text, voice, and reaction counters while preserving member XP and levels, which lets reporting periods change without erasing earned progress.
